At -30°C, the system is still running, but at reduced capacity. For Ottawa's coldest nights, we typically recommend a dual-fuel setup — pairing the Moovair with your gas furnace so the furnace takes over at extreme temperatures while the heat pump handles the majority of the heating season at much lower operating cost.
